How to Install — Step by Step

1 Download all files

Download the Option File, the Menu Efootball 2023 S5 file, and the DpFileList using the links at the bottom of this post. Save everything to the same folder on your desktop.

2 Back up your existing option file

Before replacing anything, navigate to your PES 2021 save folder and copy the existing EDIT00000000 file to your desktop as a backup. This lets you restore your previous data if anything goes wrong.

Documents > KONAMI > eFootball PES 2021 > [your ID number] > save\

3 Extract and copy the option file

Right-click the downloaded option file archive and choose Extract here. Inside you will find the EDIT00000000 file. Copy it into your save folder:

Click Yes when asked to replace the existing file.

4 Install the DpFileList

Extract the DpFileList archive and copy the files into your PES 2021 download folder:

Replace existing files when prompted. This ensures the game reads the correct data pack file list.

5 Launch Sider then PES 2021

Run sider.exe first and wait for the icon to appear in your system tray. Then launch PES 2021. Go into Edit Mode and check any major team — if you see the correct 2023-2024 squad with summer transfers applied, the option file is working perfectly.

Important: This option file works ONLY with Smoke Patch 21 V4.5. Do not attempt to use it with the standard PES 2021 Edit Mode import function or with any other patch version. Using it incorrectly will cause data errors or missing players.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this option file without Smoke Patch V4.5?

No. This option file is built specifically for SP21 V4.5 and will not work correctly without it. Install Smoke Patch 21 V4.5 first, then apply this option file on top of it.

The transfers are not showing after installing the option file

Make sure you placed the EDIT00000000 file inside the numbered ID folder — not in the root KONAMI folder. Also confirm Smoke Patch V4.5 and Sider are both installed and Sider was running before you launched the game.

Will this option file work with my existing career mode save?

Replacing the option file will reset your Edit Mode data including any manual edits you have made. However, your Master League or Become a Legend save files are stored separately and will not be affected by changing the option file.

Where do I find my ID number for the save folder path?

Navigate to Documents > KONAMI > eFootball PES 2021. Inside you will see a folder with a long number — that is your account ID. Open it and you will find the save subfolder where the EDIT file goes.
